Scotian Gold 2

David Cudmore, recently retired CEO of Scotian Gold Cooperative recently addressed an important issue. His company is in the apple business. The market within which they source their apples is also changing from being a regional supplier to trying to become a national supplier to major retail grocery chains. An implication is that central buying by clients is now occuring whereby apples are not being bought on a regional basis but rather on a national basis for all of Canada. Their challenge is how to ensure that the can move from being a regional player to being more of a national player and supply the twelve month needs of our customers.
